The official 2011 Le Mans Series calendar is finally available! After a high standard 2010 season, with a large panel of
manufacturers and private teams, 2011 puts the accent on novelties! No less than five meetings across Europe will be on
this seasonfs programme, with one new circuit in Italy: Imola. The race format goes from 1000Km to 6 Hours with the
aim of having a better visibility of the races and improving their broadcasting. The main evolution in 2011, concerns the
categories with the disappearing of GT1 and the appearing of LMGTE Pro and LMGTE Am (formerly LM GT2).
On 11 and 12 March, the 2011 Le Mans Series season will be launched with the traditional Tests on the extremely technical
and fast Paul Ricard HTTT circuit. An occasion to make prognostics before the first race, the 6 Hours of Castellet, which will
be held on this same layout three weeks later, 1, 2 and 3 April.
Then to Belgium for the second round, the 6 Hours of Spa]Francorchamps on 6, 7, and 8 May. Le Mans Series and the
International Le Mans Cup will cohabite during this race which, for some, will be a dress rehearsal before the mythical 24
Hours of Le Mans.
On 1, 2 and 3 July, Le Mans Series and the Intercontinental Le Mans Cup will once again share the track for the 6 Hours of
Imola on the Enzo and Dino Ferrari circuit, cherished by the tifosis.
After the summer break, drivers and teams will meet again in England for the 6 Hours of Silverstone on 9, 10 and 11
September. The last race where Le Mans Series and the Intercontinental Le Mans Cup will compete together.
The 2011 season will end in Portugal with a 6 Hours race on 23, 24 and 25 September, the circuit still to be defined.
