The BTCC has today released its provisional ten-event calendar for 2008, the 50th anniversary of the ever popular domestic series. Fans can now once again enjoy the wheel-to-wheel action of the highly-charged domestic series at the UK’s premier motorsport venue, after Silverstone’s absence from the calendar in 2007.

In 2008, Silverstone hosted a nail-biting race weekend towards the end of the BTCC season.

For 2008 Richard Phillips, Managing Director of Silverstone Circuits Limited, said: “It’s great news for the fans that the British Touring Car Championship is coming back to Silverstone, and we are delighted to be back on the calendar, especially for 2008 when the series will be celebrating its 50th year. BTCC is a fantastic British championship and we look forward to hosting the ninth round.

Well Ian and his team have now re-established the importance of Silverstone and the BTCC - so we all look forward to the 2009 event and for many years to come.
