Construction of Madrid's Madring circuit has begun, with organisers in the Spanish capital laying the foundation stone for the venue that will host the Spanish Grand Prix as part of a long-term deal announced last year.
Madrid-born Williams driver Carlos Sainz, is announced as the circuit’s ambassador.
Madrid will become the only European capital city to host a Formula 1 Grand Prix, with a project that has received strong backing from both the Community of Madrid and the City Council since its inception.
Set to be constructed around the IFEMA MADRID exhibition centre fairgrounds and the expansion north east of the city, the 5.4km layout will feature 22 corners – two more than originally proposed – including La Monumental at Turn 12, a 24% banked bend that stretches 550 metres, which Sainz highlighted as the potential icon of the circuit.

General Tour Itinerary - EXAMPLE

Day 1 - Wednesday Arrive Madrid International Airport
Tour arrivals ; pre book your Resort Hoppa Airport Transfer or use the Metro / Train, Airport Bus or Taxi to your Hotel at your expense.
We can arrange a direct private transfers - please enquire.
After check-in the remainder of the day is free for you to enjoy. Your travel team and hotel reception are on hand to assist with any excursions.
Your UK Travel Team arrive with the Coach Tour group, we look forward to greeting you at the Hotel.
Day 2 - Thursday Free Day - Circuit Excursion
Airport Transfers as above. Free day to relax and explore Madrid, the centre is just a short train / metro journey away.
Circuit Excursion transfer to the Circuit for the afternoon Pit Lane Walk - all to be confirmed.
CIRCUIT TRANSFERS

Day 3 - Friday Circuit Transfers
After breakfast depart to the circuit for the track action, support session and F1. Alternatively the day is free for you to relax and enjoy.
F1 First session 14:00 - 15:00 | Support Race practice | F1 Second session 17:00 - 18:00.
Take time to enjoy the local atmosphere and dine locally.
Day 4 - Saturday Circuit Transfers
After breakfast depart to the circuit for the days track action.
F1 13:00 - 14:00 Third practice session then 16:00 - 17:00 Qualifying. For the fans of F2 we stay to see the Race.
Day 5 - Sunday Circuit Transfers
After breakfast depart to the circuit, to see the support races, Drivers parade and the Grand Prix.
F2 Second Race | Porsche Supercup | F1 Drivers Parade | Formula One GP Start 15:00.
After the race Walk the Track and enjoy the F1 Party and make history, by being at the first Spanish Formula One Madrid Grand Prix.
Day 6 - Monday UK Travel Team and Coach depart
Hotel check out is by 10:30. We wish you a safe onward journey. Subject to your flight time on Monday we suggest the Airport Transfer Bus or take the train. For late flights or departures another day then transfer use the train. Or Resort Hoppa, Airport Bus, local taxi. Always best to pre booked at your expense.
